In Home (on the Patio!) Puppy Training
For Puppies up to one year old
Your in-home outdoor family training sessions with the Puppy Professor will ensure your puppy receives consistent and clear information while the humans keep an appropriate social distance. It also helps each family member develop their own strong bond with the puppy. Your family is busy! We work with your schedule to customize a program that fits your lifestyle and we do not require that all members be present at all sessions.

Intro To Therapy Dog
For pups ages 6 mos to adult. Limit 5 pups with handlers in each session

Do you and your dog enjoy meeting new people? Consider training to become a therapy dog team. Visiting hospitals, nursing homes, colleges, libraries and school reading programs are some of the opportunities available in our area. In this class, you'll learn about the various organizations and what it takes to become a therapy dog team. You'll also have an opportunity to learn and practice the required exercises to pass a Therapy Dog Evaluation.
Level 2
Leash Walking Intensive
Pups must be able to comfortably work along side other dogs and people
Course Length: 4 weeks, 1 hour class
For Pups who have completed a class with the Puppy Professor or by invitation.

Does your dog pull on the leash? Drag you to see other dogs or people on walks? Completely forget that you are holding the other end of the leash? Lose focus and only want to sniff? Lay down and decide the walk is over?
Join us as we show you leash handling techniques, leash walking games that promote focus and proximity to you, and strategies to keep your pup engaged and relaxed on walks! In 4 weeks you will have all the tools to take you and your pup on the road!

New Puppy? Or need help with a new rescue or a pup with some struggles? Our private video conference (via Zoom video conferencing) will help! Our conference will identify specific challenges and training goals and address them. Conferences will include live or video demos with my dog and will provide real-time coaching for you and your pup. Fun, efficient and easy!

Building Independence in a Pandemic
One hour Zoom Workshop/$25
Thanks to the pandemic, the new norm for our dogs is to be with us ALL OF THE TIME. We are seeing more and more puppies and adult dogs (and their people!) becoming overtired and stressed due to lack of separation. A behaviorally healthy pup should be able to relax when alone. This is a learned skill.
Join us for information, live demos and discussion on independence training and the benefits of creating alone-time for your pups. We will also discuss strategies to help your pup if he is already "over attached", explain what separation anxiety looks like, how to avoid it through management and training, and regardless of a pandemic, what independence games every pet parent should know and practice.
This workshop is particularly important for puppies and maturing dogs under two years of age.
Canine Good Citizen Prep
Intermediate class for pups who have completed at least one class with us. Limit 5 pups with handlers in each class

Location: Wet Nose, Geneva
This intermediate class introduces dog teams to the elements of the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and provides training and guidance on how to achieve success in meeting each element.
Once the prep class is completed, a separate Canine Good Citizen Evaluation test day will scheduled for those wishing to test. Prep class attendees are not required to participate in the CGC Evaluation Test.
From Cautious to Confident
aka "Peanut Class"
For pups who are shy, slow to warm up, worried in new places, or meeting new people. See Peanut's story below

If your pup seems skittish, slow to warm up, and lacking in confidence, let our trainers show you and your pup ways to build optimism, confidence and resilience in these situations. If your pup is a tough nut to crack, join our "Peanut Class" for shy dogs!
Meet Peanut! (pictured above) She is the inspiration for our shy dog class. She came to her new home withdrawn, a bit fearful and lacking in trust and confidence. With time, patience and the skills that she and her family learned through positive reinforcement training, Peanut came out of her shell and now lives a happier life.

Our Puppy Professors (all certified trainers) build your puppy’s confidence and optimism through carefully crafted socialization experiences including noise desensitization, introduction to novelty, balance and proprioception activities, off leash puppy interactions, and more. We will teach the puppies to regulate arousal through calming activities including boundary games, focus games and active rest. Lastly, we will introduce marker based training to establish a learning foundation for basic skills like targeting, stationing, and capturing or shaping basic behaviors like attention to handler, sit, down, recall and more.

This fun class will introduce you and your dog to the sport of Trick Dog Training. Your dog will learn some fun tricks to show friends and family and you will learn
how trick training boosts your dog’s creativity, builds confidence, improves obedience and manners, and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.
Plus, it’s a great form of physical and mental exercise for your pup!

No time to train? Leave the training to us! This training package puts your puppy in the hands of a professional who will provide frequent, consistent training and socialization sessions over a 4 week period.
Services include:

(1) 60-minute initial phone, zoom or in-person consult to establish training goals.

9 hours of training and socialization sessions with trainer with puppy. Sessions will be held at your home outdoors, at the trainer's home or in public areas.
